About

Who we are

Innospace, as MMU’s enterprise flagship, is championed by Prof Gerry Kelleher, Deputy Vice Chancellor of MMU, and directed by Prof Dave Raper, MMU's acting Director of Enterprise.

The Office Team

Richard Deighton, Manager
Richard Deighton manages Innospace on a day-to-day basis, raising its profile, developing strategic opportunities and partnerships. He oversees support to Innospace businesses through connecting them to opportunities.

Richard took over Innospace in March 2009, having managed a two-year, £5 million knowledge transfer programme in MMU.  Before that, he specialised in programme and project management and led a local authority’s organisational change programme and managed the operations of a small IT company.  He also has overseas experience, gained during a three-year research project in Morocco and through starting up a social enterprise concerned with inter-cultural relations.

His early career focussed on sustainable development, when he worked for the Environment Agency, Government Office NW and Lancashire County Council. He has an honours degree in Geography and Masters in Civic Design.

Richard is married with two children, and enjoys outdoor sports and current affairs as well as practising business French, conversational Arabic and Moroccan Berber.

Cailline Lea, Administrator
Cailline is Innospace’s Administrator and Receptionist. She deals with day-to-day enquiries from Innospace businesses and provides administrative support to both the Innospace Director and Operations Manager. She is also involved in marketing Innospace and is working on projects that promote Innospace to a wider audience. She previously worked for AstraZeneca UK Limited in the Intellectual Property Department for just under ten years. She has recently graduated from MMU Arts & Design with a BA(Hons) in Three Dimensional Design Degree and enjoys working with small and enterprising companies.

Outside Innospace Cailline runs her own jewellery design business at www.caillineleadesign.co.uk.  She also enjoys visiting galleries, art exhibitions and baking at the weekend.
