Innospace and MMU Business School hosting this year’s Global Business Opportunities programme

A unique business start-up programme is coming to Manchester in June and July, involving enterprising students from four countries.

Innospace and MMU Business School hosting this year’s Global Business Opportunities programme

All participants of the GBO, organised by Al Ahli Holding Group of Dubai in partnership with MMU and sponsored by Innospace-business MMC Learning, will benefit from hands on business advice, training and mentoring and the chance to make first class business connections to get their business off to a flying start.

Al Ahli have run the programme since 2008. The program has been running in Argentina, Brazil, Lebanon, Jordan and the UK (Coventry).

Participants will learn the whole process of starting a business from the idea conception stage right through to developing and testing a product/service and seeking investment to scale. Students will also learn soft skills like leadership, communication and team work which will be useful in any career. They also learn how to interact with different cultures.

If the participants are successful, Al Ahli Holding Group can invest in ideas they see have potential, and connect their network of investors to the entrepreneurs.

To get onto the programme, students must prove they have the passion to become entrepreneurs. But once they are accepted on the programme, they are treated to a 16 day intensive run-through the essentials for starting up: beginning with identifying market problems and potential solutions, through to business modelling, finance, marketing and operations.

Al Ahli are well-used to seeing successful ideas blossom: last year’s winners are developing a new generation restaurant which contain interactive tables so customers can manage orders, learn about cuisine and chat across the restaurant.

All the businesses that have had investment are still going now.
